Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket has once again graciously invited the NGA to participate in a group exhibition in their main floor art gallery. This event is an excellent opportunity to showcase and promote your art in a high-traffic venue during the spring of 2018.
WHEN – Thursday May 31st, 2018
WHERE – Market Brewing Company on Leslie Street
WHAT – A ticketed event in support of “Happy Hearts”, the fundraising campaign of Community Living in order to build a new facility in Newmarket. Founded in 1954, Community Living Newmarket/ Aurora District is a non-profit, charitable organzation which provides support to people who have an intellectual disability.
WHO – Community Living is looking for five NGA artists who are willing to work as mentors for five patrons of a special Community Living art program. Ideally, NGA artists will work 1-on-1 with a Community Living artist once a week over March and April leading up to the show in May (scheduling is a bit flexible). Support staff will be there to assist, so your only focus is helping the student with their art. The art made by Community Living artists will be auctioned at the event, and participating NGA mentors will be able to display and sell their own work (a 25% commission will go towards the Happy Hearts fundraiser).
If you are interested in being one of the five mentors and participating in the May 31st show at Market Brewing Company, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Georgina Art Centre & Gallery has invited the NGA to participate in a group show with the theme “water”. Open to all 2D and 3D artists. More details and call for artists to follow. Apply here: Georgina Application
Our second 2018 group show at Southlake will take place from September 10th to October 1st. More details will be given closer to the event.
The 10th Annual Art Walk & Studio takes place around historic downtown Newmarket.
You can meet two different artists every week at the and take a look at their paintings, jeweler, ceramics, photography and more every Saturday morning between 8am and 1pm. Find the NGA booth at the south end of the Newmarket Farmer’s Market (located at Riverwalk Commons/ the Community Centre).
